Abstract

136,887. Dredge, F. Dec. 20, 1918. Power-driven hand-supported brushes.-In apparatus for cleaning and polishing windows &c., the rotary cleaning-device is connected to the motor by two or more sections of shafting mounted concentrically within two or more sections of tubing, the tube and shaft sections being adapted so that, upon coupling together the tube sections, the shaft sections automatically engage. As shown, the tube sections a are connected together by a ferrule b or other coupling and the shaft sections by a clutch c, the shafting running in ball bearings d. The cleaning-appliance is attached to the socket b secured by the wood block e to the end shaft section. According to the distance of the window &c. to be cleaned, sections are added or taken out, the lowest section, which forms the hand-grip, being adapted to contain the motor; or the shafting may be connected to a motor placed on the ground.
