Abstract

1368328 Block-bottomed valve bags INDUSTRIELE ONDERNEMING WAVIN NV 17 June 1971 [17 June 1970 10 Feb 1971] 28429/71 Heading B8K The bottom of a plastics block-bottomed valve bag comprises two inwardly folded corner flaps 7, 10 and two bottom flaps 8, 8<SP>1</SP> folded over on lines 14 and secured to each other and to the corner flaps along seal lines 15, 16 and 17, leaving a valve opening between the flaps 7 and 8, 8<SP>1</SP>. The seals 17a, 17b are made along the fold lines 14 or inwardly thereof. The ends 28, 29 of the seals 16a and 17 are rounded off to inhibit tearing. The seals are formed by a partition member and a sealing stamp which both have sealing members corresponding to the positions of the seals to be formed, the partition member being inserted between the flaps 7 and 8 and beneath flap 10 and having a constant circumference but being flat at its leading end and narrow and raised at its other end. In a modification, an auxiliary valve flap (31) is connected beneath the flap 7 by seals (37) parallel to fold lines 14 and to flaps 8, 8<SP>1</SP> by seals (36) perpendicular to fold lines 14.
