Abstract
1368056 Cleaning head-lamp lenses FIAT SpA 6 July 1973 [11 July 1972(4) 2 Aug 1972] 32328/73 Heading A4F A motor vehicle head-lamp lens 12 has means for supplying cleaning liquid thereto, and is provided with a wiper blade 42 rotated by an electric motor 22 via a speed reducer 24, both components 22, 24 being mounted within the head-lamp 10 and supported by the lens 12. The cleaning liquid is supplied from a reservoir 38 by a pump 36, driven by the speed reducer 24, and via a bore 34 in the motor shaft 32 to radial nozzles 50 rotatable with the shaft 32. Alternatively the cleaning liquid may be supplied by an independently controlled electric pump to four nozzles 82 to 85 Fig. 7 (not shown) arranged around the periphery of the lens. The motor and speed reducer unit 22, 24 is supported in an aperture 14 in the lens 12 or in a tubular well 114 or 214 Figs. 3 and 4 (not shown). In a further embodiment a rectangular head-lamp lens 312, Fig. 8, is cleaned by wiper blades 342a, 388a carried by arms 342, 388 on shafts 332, 387, one or each of which is driven by an electric motor speed reducer unit 323 or 323' Fig. 9 (not shown) and by a further wiper blade or pad 389a carried by a link 389 connecting the wiper arms 342, 388.
