Abstract

1329400 Cleaning vehicle headlamps GENERAL MOTORS CORP 4 May 1972 [14 May 1971] 20838/72 Heading A4F A headlamp is provided with a lens wiper system comprising wiper arms 25 mounted on fixed pivots 24 and having pin and slot connections 30, 35 with a ring 36 movable angularly by mechanism connected to an eye 40 therein, to oscillate the wiper arms 25. In a headlamp system comprising two or four headlamps the rings 36 may be moved angularly to and fro via linkage and a common electric driving motor. Alternatively the driving means may comprise Bowden cables and vacuum or pressure motors. Each lens may also be sprayed with washing liquid.
