Abstract

1367895 Reciprocating conveyers GKN WINDSOR Ltd 10 April 1972 [9 Jan 1971] 1136/71 Heading B8A [Also in Division B5] A moulding machine is provided with suctionoperated pick-up means 39 for transferring a moulded component from a mould to a transporting conveyer, the pick-up means being mounted on and moved by a pivoted linkage system from the position shown in full lines in Fig. 3 to that shown in chain lines. This movement is effected through a link 27 by a pneumatically operated rotary actuator housed within a support 16. As shown, suction is applied to the pads 39 through a valve 19, flexible pipe 20, rigid pipe 21 and a detachable sleeve 37. The support 16 may be secured by a clamp 17 to one of the tie bars 14 of an injection moulding machine. Movement of the pads towards the moulded article is effected by a piston and cylinder unit 35. The article is retained in the movable mould part until pushed out by ejector pins (15) Fig. 1 (not shown). In place of the suction pads 39, suction-operated gripping jaws may be used.
