Abstract

1367893 Timber beams WALTER HOLME & SONS Ltd 16 Dec 1971 [22 Dec 1970] 60798/70 Heading E1W A timber beam comprises upper and lower vertically spaced flanges 10a which may be formed integrally of by two longitudinally united battens. The flanges are spaced and united by longtiudinally spaced webs 15 engaging in longitudinal grooves, which webs may be. solid or formed by two opposed wooden sheets. Bridge pieces 13 are fixed at least in the top flange between the spaced ends of the flanges. The space at the top may be wider than the space at the bottom or the space may be V-shaped and a spacer 13 present only at the top. The beam may be formed as an arch.
