1367694 Scaffolding K F RUSHTON 30 Aug 1972 [10 Dec 1971] 57424/71 Heading E1S Scaffolding comprises non-circular, preferably rectangular - section uprights 1 each having mating portions, e.g. a spigot 2 and a socket 3 at respective ends for non-rotatable end-to-end mating, and lateral projections 4, and preferably inverted-channel-section transverse members 7 interconnecting the uprights and whose ends are supported on the projections 4 and are secured thereto by fasteners, e.g. screw-bolts 9 or 19 inserted through aligned apertures in the transverse members and projections. The scaffolding may also include staging boards 14 and toe-boards 21 supported on the transverse members 7; ground-engaging attachments for the uprights such as base plates 28, screw-jacks 30 and castor wheels; diagonal braces 34 clamped to the uprights; and wall-engaging members 40.
