Abstract
1367611 Air conditioning buildings; heating or cooling buildings BORG WARNER CORP 23 Aug 1971 [11 Sept 1970] 39414/71 Headings F4V and F4U An air conditioning system for a multi-room building comprises room units 10, 11 in rooms A and B, each unit having cooling and heating heat exchangers 15, 16 respectively and a primary air outlet nozzle 13 or a fan 19 to induce room air circulation, and a four-pipe water circulation system 24, 31 connecting the heat exchangers 16, 15 to a water heater 25 and cooler 32, wherein flow of water through individual heat exchangers is controlled by electric pumps or electromagnetic valves 38, 39. Each pump includes a magnetic rotor 40 driven by a motor 41 through a rotating magnet 32. The pumps 38, 39 of each individual unit 10 or 11 are actuated one at a time by a common switch in response to a room temperature sensor 43. Either of the pumps 38, 39 may also be actuated independently of the signal from sensor 43 by a humidistatically controlled switch.
