Abstract
1364755 Glass fibre webs KONINKLIJKE PAPIERFABRIEKEN VAN GELDER ZONEN NV 4 Feb 1972 5423/72 Heading D2B [Also in Division B5] A glass fibre web is made by wet-laying an aqueous suspension of glass fibres, type E, 5-30 mm long and 5-15Á thick containing as binder a powder or suspension of polyvinyl alcohol having a degree of hydrolysis of 98-100% and a viscosity, measured as a 4% solution in water at 20C, of 20-100 cP, and drying the resulting web. The glass fibre web may be impregnated with a solution of a thermosetting plastics material to form a material which on lamination is useful as an insulating sheet for a printed circuit. Specified thermosetting plastics are epoxy, phenol-formaldehyde, polyester, silicone, and hydrocarbon resins. The glass fibres may be coated with a silane.
