Abstract

1364555 Cableways G MULLER 6 Oct 1971 [13 Oct 1970] 46495/71 Heading B7L A cableway, for gondolas, or cabins, comprises a stressed driveway cable 2 and support cable 1 therefor, both cables being fixedly anchored at their ends, cable 1 being supported at intervals by pylons 3 and the cable 2 being suspended from the cable 1 by tensioned connection elements 4 to further stress the cable 2 such that a negative sag or camber is produced in the spans of the cable 2 when the latter is unloaded, and negative bearing forms are produced at positions 3<SP>11</SP>. The stress in the driveway 2 is approximately twice that in support cable 1.
