1364308 Rotary hydraulic pump or motor KOMBINAT TYPOWYCH ELEMENTOW HYDRAULIKI SILOWEJ "DELTA-HYDRAL" WYTWORNIA SPRZETU KOMUNIKACYJNEGO IM BOLESLAWA KRZYWOUSTEGO 21 Oct 1971 [5 Dec 1970] 48918/71 Heading F1F In an externally meshing hydraulic gearpump or motor, an end cover 5 has a pair of grooves connected with the high-pressure side of the machine, each groove having therein a resilient ring 8 which urges a sealing ring 7 into contact with the adjacent end bush 4 or 9 to effect axial loading thereof. The ring 7 preferably has a frusto-conical outer surface engageable by the ring 8 which may be a coiled spring. The ring 7 may also be rectangular in cross-section, and its face adjacent the end bush may be coated with rubber or a plastics material to enhance sealing. It is stated that the invention is also applicable to vane type pumps and motors.
