Abstract

1363318 Valves L V ANDERSSON 5 Dec 1972 [16 Dec 1971] 56080/72 Heading F2V In a mixing tilt-valve, e.g. for gases, when mixed gas is withdrawn through outlet 12, the consequent pressure drop in mixing chamber 5 causes unmixed gases at inlets 9a, 9b to force valve member 2 to tilt about ridge 11 as shown and thereby permit the gases to flow into the chamber 5. The ratio of the flows through the inlets is adjustable by rotating the valve member 2 relative to its seating 3 by means of a knob provided on the end of spindle 1, the latter transmitting the drive to the valve member via a disc 8 and a spring 7 which additionally functions to bias the valve member towards its seating. The valve member may have an aperture therethrough to co-operate with one or other of the inlets at respective end-of-rotation positions of the valve member. The ridge 11 may be replaced by two pointed projections or by one or more hinges. A pressure regulator may be provided in housing 4 to keep the two gas flows to the inlets at the same pressure.
