Abstract
1363266 Electro-photographic device XEROX CORP 13 Dec 1971 [18 Dec 1970] 57752/71 Heading G2C An electro-photographic device suitable for use with either a positive or negative sensitizing charge comprises a substrate 11 supporting a layer 12 of thallium-doped vitreous selenium or selenium-arsenic alloy and an overlying layer 13 of undoped selenium or selenium-arsenic alloy. The thallium concentration may be 5 to 500 ppm by weight. Layers 12 and 13 may be deposited by vacuum evaporation in sequence, optionally in the same vacuum chamber. The layer constituents may be evaporated from separate sources in the chamber. Layer 12 may be 0À5 to 15 microns thick and layer 13 10 to 200 microns thick. Substrate 11 may be a sheet, web or cylinder of brass, steel, aluminium, metallized paper, plastics coated with aluminium or copper iodide, or glass coated with chromium or tin oxide. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 1132993.
