Abstract

1363187 Photographic silver halide materials AGFA-GEVAERT A G 12 May 1972 [12 May 1971] 22293/72 Heading G2C A light-sensitive photographic material, having at least one silver halide emulsion layer, includes in one or more of the layers an antistatic composition comprising a) an orthophosphoric acid in which at least two hydroxyl groups are esterified with monoesterified or monoetherified polyalkylene glycols and b) silica having a particle size of between 5 and 200 nm. The orthophosphate ester is preferably of the formula in which R 1 is a saturated or olefinically unsaturated aliphatic group containing up to 18C, an aralkyl group, an optionally substituted aryl group or an acyl group preferably derived from an aliphatic carboxylic acid containing up to 20C, R 2 is H or -(CH 2 CH 2 O)n - R 1 and n is 4 to 50. The silica is preferably prepared by a pyrogenic method and may contain 0À3 to 1À5% by weight of aluminium oxide.
