Abstract
1362960 Self cleaning ovens ETABS EUGENE SCHOLTES 29 Oct 1971 [2 Nov 1970] 50512/71 Heading F4W [Also in Division H5] A resistance heating element 1, for the lower part of an oven (not shown), comprises a series of loops of which the various arms 4a, 5a, 7a, 8a, and 4b, 5b, 7b, 8b extend in a common plane, and the outermost parallel arms 4a, 5a and 4b, 5b on each side extend beyond the transverse line L limiting the other loops and are joined by portions 6a, 6b, extending at right-angles to the general direction of the arms and parallel to the front of the oven. The increased heating of the front portion of the oven compensates for heat losses due to the oven door. The oven contains upper resistance heating elements 11, 12, Fig. 2 (not shown), of which element 12 is energizable separately when using the oven as a grill. Elements 1, 11, are energizable simultaneously for self-cleaning.
