Abstract

1362372 Cementitious compositions; comminuting P.F.A. N G REID and C R STRINGER 7 Sept 1972 [7 June 1971] 19304/71 Headings C1H and C1A A cementitious material comprises particles comprising a major proportion of silicates and derived from fly ash by mutual bombardment, and lime which can be present entirely as a component of cement. The silicate particles are not larger than 25 Á. Optionals are accelerators, e.g. fluorides; surfactants (desugared lignosulphonates), prepolymerized resins, e.g. epoxy; carbon fibres, asbestos, clays, shale, chlorite and CaSO4 0-2 H2O. The fly ash (P.F.A.) is produced by comminution in a fluid energy mill, preferably having a cylindrical mill chamber disposed with its diameter vertical and lined with an abrasion resistant material, e.g. BC or SiC. It may have a size down to 1 Á.
