Abstract

1362159 Fasteners USM CORP 7 June 1973 [8 June 1972] 27207/73 Heading E2B A fastener suitable for use in holding elongate members in position relative to a support 22 comprises a base 28, two legs 40, 42 projecting from the base 28 in spaced relation and an arm 48 projecting from the base 28 and having a free end portion 50 receivable between the legs 40, 42 so as to form with the base and legs a closed loop for encircling the elongate members. The free end portion 50 of the arm 48 and at least one 42 of the legs are shaped for interengagement to restrain relative longitudinal movement between the at least one of the legs and the free end portion and relative lateral movement between the legs and the free end portion being prevented by engaging non-planar surfaces of the legs and free end portion (Fig. 3, not shown). A seaming means 26 is also provided for securing the base 28 to the support 22. The securing means 26 comprises a V-shaped member one limb 30 of which is integral with the base and the other limb 32 having a free end 34. The arm 48 is provided with a strengthening rib 54 and a hinge portion 56. The fastener is of a plastics material such as polypropylene.
