Abstract
1362035 Bale loaders; luffing arm apparatus MSOUPA 16 Nov 1971 [16 Nov 1970] 53228/71 Headings B8E and B8H A tractor attachment for loading bales on to a trailer behind the tractor comprises tines 4, Fig. 1, which are maintained at an adjustable level above the ground by a wheel 6 to engage bales, and arms 9, 1, 2 secured to a shaft 21 diagonally mounted on the tractor which raise the tines to drop the bale on to the trailer. As the bale is raised its weight causes the arm 1 to slide within the arm 2 thus reducing the height from which the bale falls. For loading at higher levels the length of the arms 1, 2 may be fixed by inserting a pin through one of a series of holes 7, Fig. 3. The tines 4 can pivot upwards from the position shown which is adjustable by means of a screw 24. The angle of a rear frame 5 may be adjusted by a strut 23. The arms may be folded about a joint 20, Fig. 1, to the dotted line position, for travelling on a road, by withdrawing a pin from the joint.
