Abstract

1360956 Winches INVENTIO AG 30 Nov 1972 [3 Dec 1971] 55333/72 Heading B8B The rope drum 1 of a hoist is driven through three planetary gear stages 11, 12, 13 from an electric motor 6 partially extending into the drum. A covering shield 5 partially surrounding the drum 1, is connected at one end to a plate 6-1 supporting the motor 6, and at the other end to a gear base housing 7, the drum 1 being mounted on radially self aligning bearings 8, 9 on the plate 6À1 via a drum web 10 at one end and on the gear-box housing lid 7À1 via a cylindrical extension 1À1, 1À2 of the drum 1 at the other end. The input shaft 15 to the planetary gearing is connected to the motor output shaft 6À4 through a flexible coupling 14. The first two stages 11, 12 of the gearing are housed within the drum 1 whereas the final stage 13 is housed in extension 1À1, 1À2 of the drum to facilitate clamping of the first stage gear ratio. The gear chamber formed between a drum web 16 and the extension lid 1À2 contains a lubricant. The outer end of the motor 6 incorporates an electromagnetic disc brake 6À3 which may be used as a clutch when a creep speed device is incorporated at that end of the motor.
