Abstract

1359824 Cable conduits WARD BROS (SHERBURN) Ltd 22 June 1971 [27 June 1970] 31290/70 Heading H2C Flanged structural building members are adapted to accommodate electrical wiring by the addition of a core member, e.g. 17, Fig. 2, which is shaped to form a duct between an inturned lip 15 of a flange 14 and part of the web 11 of the structural member. The cover member may be resilient, of, e.g. P.V.C., and snapped into position, as shown in Fig. 2, when the structural member is a generally I-shaped purlin. The purlin may also carry a polyethylene end cap 23, and the cover member 17 may have a gland outlet fitting 25 in a portion 24, adjacent portions being covered with clips 26. A junctionbox 28 is provided, and an L-shaped slot 29 permits swivelling of the box, and a retainer 30 and spring clip 31 hold it in position normally. Brackets 27 can carry fittings (see Fig. 3, not shown). Other structural members of different shapes (Figs. 4, 5, not shown) may be provided with differently-shaped cover members.
