Abstract

1359604 Vehicle couplings LA MECANOSOUDURE-REMOISE 19 April 1972 [3 May 1971] 18092/72 Heading B7T A hitch comprises a pin 2 welded at 3 to a housing 1 containing a pivoted latch member 19, this member being biased by a spring 24 such that when the pin is engaged with a coupling jaw 7 it cannot be raised except by upward movement of handle 12 which will first raise the latch member against the spring, so freeing the lip end 20 from possible engagement with collar 4, and then cause the pin and housing as a whole to be lifted free from the jaw, thus by a single movement the latch is released and the pin freed. The latch is raised by the lower end of the handle 15 engaging a bifurcated part 21 thereof. A cap 25 prevents foreign matter entering a grease chamber 11.
