1359262 Article dispensing machines VENDO CO 13 Sept 1972 [9 May 1972] 42475/72 Heading A4T A dispensing machine comprises horizontal, rectangular, partitioned article carriers 26 mounted between two parallel upright endless conveyors 40, Fig. 3 by end rollers 50, Fig. 5 rotatable and slidable in slots 48 of arms 46 attached to links of the conveyors, the rollers having an outer roller follower 54 moving along cam grooves 70, Figs. 3, 11 in castings 62 adjacent the arcuate parts of the conveyors passing around the sprocket 42 and motor driven spindle 38, whereby the carriers are forced to move through a right angle into and out of the corners of the rectangular cabinet containing the conveyors the carriers passing a selection window adjacent one of the straight stretches of the conveyor, and liftable doors through which an article may be extracted, (24, 30), Fig. 2 (not shown). The arms 46 carry guide blocks 60 which enter or leave the castings 62 via straight grooves 74a 74b and then move round the circular track 74c in the castings to stabilize the arms at the arcuate conveyor portions. The carriers are stabilized by engagement with anti-friction coated inner and outer tracks 78, 80 carried by the cabinet adjacent the straight conveyer portions while blocks 60 passs along guide channels 58. Parts 82 of tracks 80 may be unlatched by lifting slightly and then hinged at 84 outwards to disengage the carriers whereby, on opening a door at the front of the cabinet, a carrier may be removed by sliding it forwardly out of arm slots 48. The machine may be coin operated.
