Abstract
1290838 Cabinets ACME VISIBLE RECORDS Inc 29 April 1970 [29 April 1969] 20568/70 Heading A4B [Also in Divisions B6 and B8] In filing apparatus wherein a number of trays 25 are attached e.g. by arms 19, 20, to endless driven chains 18 each tray 25 has secured to its pivot 23 a triangular member 26 carrying rollers 27, 28 engaging guide grooves which maintain the member 26 and its associated tray in a horizontal position. The roller 27 is longer than the roller 28 so that whilst both rollers run in the same groove parts 29, 30 during the vertical parts of the movement of the tray, at the upper part of the apparatus the roller 28 runs into an arcuate groove 32 and the roller 27 runs into a deeper groove 31 spaced from the groove 32 to maintain the horizontal position of the tray. At the lower end of the apparatus, grooves 35, 36 similarly shaped to the grooves 31, 32 are provided, the groove 36 being deeper than the groove 35, however, so that the roller 28 runs into the groove 35 and the roller 27 runs into the groove 36. An electrical drive, which may be reversible, can be operated in known manner by push buttons to bring a selected tray adjacent to an inspection opening 11 in the casing of the apparatus.
