Abstract

1,194,279. A drive mechanism. MORRIS SINGER & HASKINS Ltd. 28 Aug., 1968, No. 41159/68. Heading E2M. A drive mechanism consists of a driven sprocket (not shown) and an idler sprocket 3 around which is entrained an endless chain 7. This system is encased within a housing 9 which is formed to provide two guide rails 15 and a channel 11 throughout its length. Suspension members 13 are connected to the upper run of the chain 7 and extend down through the channel 11 and into the. door 1; each such member is attached to a wheel set 17 which runs along the rails 15. A chain support 19, attached to the casing, has two horizontal shelves: the upper one 21 lies in a plane just below the upper run of the chain 7 and has a rim 23, the lower one 25 lies in a plane just below the lower run of the chain. These two shelves also provide trays for lubricating grease for the chain.
