Abstract

1357057 Flavouring tobacco SVENSKA TOBAKS AB 9 Nov 1972 [11 Nov 1971] 51647/72 Heading A2C In a continuous rod machine for making cigarettes or cylindrical cigars, at least one aromatic substance dissolved or dispersed in a liquid is sprayed onto the continuous tobacco layer 5 on a conveyer 2 at a location between the tobacco distributor 1 and the position where the layer 5 is transferred to a wrapper strip 8. The liquid, which may be a solution of menthol in alcohol, is sprayed in the form of an aerosol by a nozzle 23 fed with the liquid and compressed air by conduits 30, 31 respectively. The liquid is fed from a closed container 24 via a filter 28 and flow regulator 29 to the conduit 30, under the action of compressed air supplied to the container 24 by a conduit 25.
