Abstract

1356219 Assembling carburettors HITACHI Ltd 7 July 1972 [12 July 1971] 32011/72 Heading B3A [Also in Division F1] An air valve type carburetter has its suction chamber 2 fixed relative to a main body 1 by positioning pins 11 formed from a material which can be poured into previously bored holes 12 and 13 and allowed to set. The material may be a thermosetting resin which is highly adhesive to metal surfaces, e.g. epoxy resin. Forming positioning pins thus, ensures that the relative positions of needle 7 fixed to piston 3 and nozzle 8 attached to main body 1 are preserved as the suction chamber is fixed to the main body by means of screws. A previously applied releasing agent prevents bonding of the resin to the surface of the holes 12.
