1355191 Clamps F T PRODUCTS Ltd 19 Nov 1971 [20 Nov 1970] 55389/70 Heading E2B A plastics moulded fastener comprises two limbs 11, 12 joined by a resilient web 13 each limb having an external shoulder 14, 15 and internal ribs 20, 21, the external shoulders defining grooves 18, 19 with feet 16, 17. The fastener is applicable to attaching a metal moulding 22 to the edge of a flange of a support. A soft tape strip 29 is placed over the edge, the fastener is placed over the tape and the moulding is forced over the fastener until inturned lips 27, 28 on the moulding engage in the grooves 18, 19 clamping the fastener to the tape and retaining the moulding on the fastener. The tape is adhesive on the side facing the edge and may also be adhesive on the side facing the fastener. The tape is provided with a locking strip or strips which is or are removed before applying to the edge.
