1353921 Shoots CELLAR AUTOMATION Ltd 25 May 1972 [25 Feb 1971] 5444/71 Heading B8S Apparatus for conveying articles comprises a shoot and a deflector operated by the articles such that each article is directed to a location different from the preceding article, the locations being provided with means responsive to the arrival of an article for moving the article sideways out of the location. In the Figure, articles, e.g. bottles are deflected from the bottom of a shoot (not shown) into each of 4 shoots 12-15 (15, not shown) consecutively, and thus are directed to locations 7-10 where a piston-and-cylinder assembly 50 acts on arrival of the bottle to move it sideways out of the location and on to a tray 24. The trays may later be emptied manually.
