Abstract

1,044,289. Endless conveyers. W. BOON. Oct. 26, 1964, No. 43578/64. Heading B8A. Articles (not shown), such as laundry are fed to an endless belt conveyer 2 by a conveyer 1 and are selectively discharged therefrom into one or other of receiving bins 3, 4, 5 by air jets. At bin 3, for example, air from a conduit 24 is jetted through nozzles 25 to sweep an article into the bin 3 assisted by air from jets 26 in a sweep 7 pivoted on a vertical shaft so as to be swung into diagonal position when required. Instead of sweeps 7 to 12 fixed elements may be mounted at such a height above the conveyer 2 as not to interfere with the passage of articles when air is not being jetted from these elements.
