Abstract

1,099,203. Endless conveyers. BARRYWEHMILLER CO. March 15, 1966 [June 11, 1965], No. 11349/66. Heading B8A. Bottles in pockets 11 of a conveyer of a washing machine are discharged into a shoot 31 from which they are conveyed by a cam-like member 35 to a further conveyer 22. The correct positioning of each bottle at the moment of discharge to the shoot 31 is achieved by the action of a roller 41 which moves the bottle at a greater rate than the speed of the conveyer pockets 11. The bottle therefore, regardless of its size, is accelerated to engage with the pocket wall 11A. The fore-andaft position of a platform 42 preceding the roller 41 may be adjusted by a wheel 48. In a modification (Fig. 4, not shown), the roller 41 may be oscillated (instead of being continually rotated) by the action of a cam (158) and linkage (154), (155) and (157). In a further modification, the roller 41 is replaced by an oscillating platform (161) (Fig. 5, not shown), which permits the bottle to drop forwardly and downwardly against the pocket wall 11A. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 791,878.
