A conveyer system comprises a carrier movable along an overhead conveyer including an article-conveying tray, means for pivotallysupporting from the carrier the leading end of the tray, means for releasing articles from the trailing end of the carrier, means for latching the tray in an article-conveying position generally parallel to the conveyer, means for releasing the tray for pivoting to a release position with the trailing end of the tray lowered, and a downwardly-inclined article-receiving shoot having a portion that underlies and extends generally in the vertical plane of the conveyer, the shoot inclining downwardly from the conveyer in a direction opposite to the direction of motion of the carrier, for non-tumbling article transfer. The particular description is identical with that in Specification 1,164,168.
