Abstract

1352039 Heating or cooling and ventilating buildings COMPAGNIE PECHINEY 19 April 1971 [7 April 1970] 26462/71 Heading F4V A ventilating system for supplying heated or cooled air to an apartment of a multi-storey building comprises a reversible heat pump situated in the space 100 between the floor 101 of the apartment and a ceiling 103 of the adjacent lower storey and a duct 1 which delivers heated or cooled air from the heat pump to a plenum chamber 2 having air outlet openings 24 for directing the air on to sliding glass doors 110 of an external wall of the apartment. The chamber 2 is formed in two parts from a metal, alloy or polyester and is lined with thermally insulating material, e.g. polyurethane foam. Fresh air is supplied to one heat exchanger of the heat pump optionally via a filter and the other heat exchanger of the heat pump lies within a conduit containing a filter and through which is passed air from the apartment, e.g. from the kitchen or wash room. Fresh air is drawn into the building and stale air expelled through plenum chambers similar to the chamber 2.
