Abstract

1350047 Sweeping mines INDUSTRIEWERKE KARLSRUHE AUGSBURG AG 27 Jan 1972 [5 June 1971] 3930/72 Heading B7A Apparatus for use in cutting the mooring ropes 11 of sea mines comprises a plurality of devices as shown in Fig. 2 each attached to a sweeping cable 2. Each device comprises an upper jaw 10a into which is guided the mooring rope 11 which urges lever 10b to break pin 10c and strike plate 12 attached to a piezo-electric sensor 13 whose output fires the explosive charge 14 which severs the mooring rope 11. Simultaneously, or after a delay, a secondary charge is fired which propels a striking member 20 to release the easing 17 from the cable 2 so as not to hinder the sweeping of the next mine.
