Abstract

1349650 Textile treating apparatus SAMUEL PEGG & SON Ltd 9 Nov 1971 [26 Nov 1970 11 May 1971] 56455/70 and 14123/71 Heading D1L [Also in Division F4] In a method for treating textile articles (e.g. hosiery) the articles are placed in an air- and liquid-permeable container formed by a bag 4, knitted from polypropylene yarn and supported by rectangular frame members 5 and 6, and closable integral lid 7, the containers are loaded into a carrier 18 formed with legs 19, perforated top plate 18e, perforated base plate 18d (see Fig. 3, not shown) and domed cover 20 and the carrier is moved by swivelling hoist 17 from loading station 15 into a treatment vessel 22 at treatment station 16 so that cover 20 forms the lid to the vessel 22. Liquid treatment, e.g. dyeing or bleaching followed by rinsing is carried out by circulating liquid by means of fans 24 over weir 23 formed in vessel 22, through the carrier and passed heat exchanger 25. At the end of liquid treatment carrier 18 is returned to loading station 15 and a second carrier is placed in vessel 22. The containers are removed from carrier 18 and fed on trolleys (26) (Fig. 5, not shown) to hot air hood (30) for drying of the wet treated articles.
