Abstract
1344464 Treating textiles with liquids SAMUEL PEGG & SON Ltd 28 Oct 1971 [8 Aug 1970] 38327/70 Heading D1L A device (Fig. 2) for use in the wet treatment of textile goods comprises a transportable hollow carrier 27 having a loading hatch 29, perforated lid 33 and transporting handles 30 and adapted to receive in laminar arrangement a plurality of perforated or reticulated trays 32 on which the textile goods 35 to be treated are laid. In use the loader carrier 27 is placed in a treatment vessel 1 with its tapered lower end adjacent the exit post 3 of the vessel and the goods carried therein are treated with liquid (e.g. for dyeing, bleaching, rinsing &c) circulated through inlet port 4, the carrier in the directions of the arrows and exit port 3 by circulation pump 12. As illustrated the kier 1 may include a closable lid 6 connected to an expansion tank 18 and a condenser 20 by connecting pipe 19, heat exchange coils 11, external conduit 7 leading to a vented safety valve 8 and branched to a steam source at 10 and at 9 to the atmosphere, and a conduit 17 associated with the pump 12 for solvent recovery and steam, vacuum drying means (not shown). The arrangement allows textile goods to be dyed, rinsed and dried in the same apparatus, the treated goods only being removed from trays in the carrier for further treatment (e.g. packaging and inspection) after the carrier has been lifted from the kier 1.
