Abstract

1348041 Dyeing leather CIBA-GEIGY AG 19 April 1971 [4 March 1970 15 Jan 1971] 23077/71 Heading D1B Leather e.g. chrome-tanned leather is dyed by treating at a temperature of from 25‹C to 80‹C for a period of up to 15 seconds with either a) an aqueous dyestuff solution that optionally contains a water-miscible organic solvent and/or a wetting agent and a dispersing agent, b) a solution of a dyestuff in an organic solvent or a mixture of organic solvents, or c) an aqueous or organic dispersion of a dyestuff, expressing the dyeing liquor from the dyed leather and subsequently drying the leather or subjecting it to a fixing process and then drying it. Metal complex, reactive pigment, acid and cationic dyes may be employed, continuous processes optionally may be used, dispersing and wetting agents are also specified.
