Abstract

1347518 Linkwork ADDRESSOGRAPH-MULTIGRAPH CORP 21 May 1971 [8 June 1970] 16298/71 Heading F2K [Also in Division G2] A cutter device in a paper feeding apparatus is operated by a crank-shaft assembly and comprises a slack loop forming bar 124 and a rotary cutting device 122 having a rotating knife blade (123) and a stationary blade (127). The crank shaft assembly comprises arms 178 and 194, which control the slack loop bar and rotating blade respectively, one end of each arm being connected to a rotatable shaft 190 with the attached ends being displaced relative to each other through 90 degrees. Rotation of the shaft 190 about point 188 through 180 degrees in the direction of the arrow shown in Fig. 3, causes shaft 178 to move bar 124, via a plate 128, to the position shown in Fig. 4, thus forming a loop in the copy paper. The simultaneous movement of arm 194, Figs. 6, 7, 8, results in the rotatable blade rocking away from, and back to, the stationary blade. Further rotation of the shaft 190 through 180 degrees moves arms 178 and 194, Fig. 9, so that bar 124 returns to its initial position and the movable blade engages the stationary blade to sever the copy paper.
