SOCIETA IN ACCOMANDITA SEMPLICE DI ENZO SERAGNOLI ED ARIOSTO SERAGNOLI]. 30 Nov., 1966 [30 Nov., 1965], No. 53673/66. Heading B4B. Apparatus for cutting sheets 51 from a web 21 of wrapping material, e.g. metal foil comprises a rotary knife 43 and an intermittentlyoscillatable knife 30, the knife 30 being stationary during the cutting operation and being oscillated immediately thereafter in direction 52, Fig. 4, to clear the severed sheet therefrom and then being returned to its original position for the next cutting operation. The knife 43 is mounted on a shaft 45 one end of which is provided with a cam 48, Fig. 3, engaged by a spring-influenced follower roller 39 mounted on a shaft 38 fitted on arm 37 extending from a hub 36 fixed on the end of a shaft 32 upon which the blade 30 is mounted. Sector sleeves 35, 47, Fig. 2, are fixed in the central areas of the shafts 32, 45 respectively. The cut sheets, are conveyed to a wrapping machine by grippers 50. The rotary knife may be helicoidal.
