Abstract

1347328 Electro-photographic developing apparatus FUJI PHOTO FILM CO Ltd 9 Dec 1971 [10 Dec 1970] 573848/71 Heading G2H An electro-photographic developing apparatus comprises electrode rollers 3 encircled by endless belts 8; drive rollers 4; and side plates 2. When an imaging bearing sheet 12 is fed between belts 8 and rollers 4, the rollers 3 are pushed upwards to space the sheet from rollers 3. Plates 2 or plates 16, Figs.3, 4: (not shown) contact the edges of belts 8 so that developer liquid pumped from a tank 1 through nozzles 10 is retained on sheet 12 for a time rather than immediately flowing back into tank 1. The spacing between sheet 12 and rollers 3, and the reduction in liquid flow over sheet 12 are intended to reduce streaking. Rollers 3 and 4 may be electrically biased for reversal development and are preferably stainless steel, aluminium or brass. Belts 8 may be P.T.F.E. or other plastics.
