Abstract

938,349. Developing baths. OZALID CO. Ltd., and A. L. ROBERTSON. June 22, 1962 [June 23, l961], No. 22755/61. Classes 98 (1) and 98 (2). Apparatus for use in the liquid development of electrostatic images comprises a trough 3 with a concave base, rollers 5, 6 and 7, 8 for feeding the exposed material into and out of the trough, a roller 9 arranged to rote in the trough with its periphery moving in the same direction as the material and defining with the base a channel for the material, inlet and outlet pipes for the developer, liquid and means for circulating the liquid through the trough so that the lower portion of roller 9 is immersed in the liquid and both outlet rollers are wetted with liquid. In the embodiment shown liquid is pumped from a reservoir through pipes 12 and 20 into the trough and over roller 9 respectively and passes through outlet 14 back to the reservoir. A drain aperture 13 is provided for emptying the trough. The rollers are rotated by means of an electric motor.
