Abstract

1336960 Developing electrostatic latent images FUJI PHOTO FILM CO Ltd 29 Dec 1971 [28 Dec 1970] 60560/71 Heading G2H An electrostatic latent image is developed under the influence of a development electrode, the electrode being earthed through a low or zero resistance for a continuous tone image and through a high resistance for a line image. In Fig.3, rollers 20 and 31 are permanently connected directly to earth and rollers 21 are either connected directly to earth or are earthed through a resistance R (preferably 10<SP>6</SP> ohms to infinity;) selection being made by a switch 13. In Fig. 8 (not shown) variable resistances are used. In Fig. 1 (not shown) a curved plate electrode (12) and a curved gauze electrode (10) are used. In Fig. 9 (not shown) an image is sprayed at a pretreatment station (100) with insulating liquid; sprayed with liquid developer at a station (90) identical to that of Fig. 3 and then rinsed and squeezed at an aftertreatment station (110).
