Abstract

1346392 Invalid hoists for use with baths W MEYER JNR W MEYER SNR J KADE and E HARTUNG [trading as OFFENBACHER KRANKENFAHRZEUGFABRIK PETRI & LEHR] 24 Feb 1972 [9 Feb 1972] 8556/72 Heading B8H Apparatus adapted to be mounted on the side of a bath 10 for raising and lowering an invalidconsists of a seat 14 secured to an arm 16 which is supported on the screw of a screw and nut device mounted in a column 12. As shown, a pair of columns 12 are interconnected by crossbars 19 and are supported on the side of the bath by stirrups 18. The arm 16 is secured to a tubular member 17 which is slidably mounted within one of the columns 12 and which is supported on a bearing on the screw, Fig. 5 (not shown), the screw being supported in a nut secured within the column and being rotatable by means of a handle 39. The arm 16 is pivotable about the axis of the screw so that the seat may be swung over the side of the bath. The seat 14 may be replaced by a seat which is removable from a wheel chair, Figs. 7, 8 (not shown).
