Abstract

A chair, in which an upper part 32 can be swung about a vertical axis in relation to a lower part 31, is provided with a support part 32c which can be adjusted between an active support position, in front of the seat area 32b, and an inactive position. The length of the seat area 32b in relation to the combined length of the seat area and support part 32c can be adjusted continuously from a minimum seat length, with the support part in the inactive position concealed under the seat area, to a maximum length with the support part arranged as an extension of the seat area. The support part and the seat area are made in a single piece, the said length being adjustable by means of a pair or set of parallel members which can be moved lengthways. <IMAGE>
