Abstract
1346080 Electro-photography FUJI PHOTO FILM CO Ltd 27 Oct 1971 [29 Oct 1970] 50013/71 Heading G2H A layer of conductive powder is applied to an insulative surface during or after application of a corona discharge; a layer of photo-conductive powder is applied to the conductive powder layer before and/or during application of a second corona discharge; the photo-conductive powder layer is exposed imagewise; the exposed photo conductive powder (but not the underlying conductive powder) is removed; the unexposed photo-conductive powder (and underlying conductive powder) is fixed; and the conductive powder underlying the exposed photo-conductive powder is finally removed. The removed conductive and photo-conductive powder are recycled to the process. The photo-conductive powder may consist of a photo-conductive layer surrounding a transparent core. Either or both of the layer and core may be of thermoplastic resin. Both the conductive and photoconductive layers of powder are preferably at least 20 microns thick. A plurality of layers of conductive particles may be applied. The insulative surface may be flat or shaped.
