Abstract
1344927 Central heating systems IMPERIAL METAL INDUSTRIES (KYNOCH) Ltd 17 July 1972 [5 May 1971] 13190/71 Heading F4U [Also in Division F2] A valve unit for selectively apportioning the water in a central heating system between the space heating circuit and the domestic heating water supply comprises a housing 11 with inlet 13 leading via chamber 12 to first and second domestic heating water outlets 20, 22 and a space heating water outlet 14, and first and second valve closure members 32, 33 mounted on a common spindle 25 for actuation by an electric motor 29 controlled by a room thermostat, which second valve closure member is common to both outlets 20, 22, whereby the outlet 20 is open and outlets 14 and 22 are closed or vice versa. The outlet 22 permits a flow of about one-third to one quarter of that through the outlet 20. The outlet 22 may be further controlled by a diaphragm valve 36 actuated by a solenoid 37 controlled by a thermostat mounted on a water heating cylinder so that the outlet 22 is closed even though member 33 is in the open position.
