Abstract

1364820 Valves SAUNIER DUVAL 23 Feb 1973 [25 Feb 1972] 9044/73 Heading F2V [Also in Division G1] A device for controlling a switching valve in a water heater depending upon the water flow through it includes an electromagnetic signalling device for controlling the heating device of the heater in proportion to the rate of flow. A membrane 6 operates a rod 8 to control the switching valve (not shown), the pressure in the chamber 9 above the membrane being varied by the degree of opening of the end of passageway 10 by the spring-loaded flow-responsive member 11. The electromagnetic signalling device comprises a turbine rotor 17 coupled to a wheel 13 incorporating a magnet 14 which operates a reed switch 21. A control pulse is thus operated for every revolution of the rotor.
