Abstract

1325021 Fluid regulation MIKUNI KOGYO CO Ltd 19 Nov 1970 [22 Nov 1969 23 Oct 1970] 54997/70 Heading G3H A pulse-producing device 20 comprises an annular chamber 12, a cam-like rotor 14 mounted upon a shaft 13 and formed with a plane peripheral surface portion D, and input, output and drain connections 25, 26 and 27 respectively. The drain connection incorporates a needle valve 29 by the adjustment of which the fluid flowing out of chamber 12 and into the drain can be varied. The rate of such outflow determines in turn, the minimum amount of fluid constantly entering output connection 26 and constituting a bias pressure within the output. Fig. 3 indicates two such bias pressure levels Po, Pa of which the former corresponds to the fully open position of the needle valve 29. Upon the rotor being operated, the bias pressure Po or Pa within output 26 has superimposed thereon periodic pulses as shown in Fig. 3, such pulses being created by surface D intercepting the input fluid flow and deflecting such flow into output 26. The amplitude and/or duration of the superimposed signals may be varied by altering either the supply pressure or the diameter of the output 26.
