Abstract

1343492 Rotary positive - displacement engines H SABET 30 April 1971 [2 May 1970] 12528/71 Heading F1F In an I. C. engine two sets of pistons 4, 5 are fixed to annular members 2, 3 and a sleeve, or "carrier", 6, respectively, and while revolving uni-directionally relative to a cylindrical member 1 oscillate relative to each other. The sleeve 6 is secured to a rotary shaft 9 by splines 8. A cage 10 is attached to the member 2 and supported by a bearing 21 in an end cover 19. A bearing 22 in another end cover 23 supports the member 3. Bearings 27, 28 carry the sleeve 6 and shaft 9. An extension 20 of the cage constitutes an output shaft. Each of three crankshafts 13 carried by bearings in the cage 10 is coupled by a link 14 to a corresponding gudgeonpin in a flange formed on the axially outer end of the shaft 9, rotation of the crank-shaft being controlled by a pinion 15 fixed thereto and meshing with an internally-toothed ring 16 connected rigidly to the member 1 by a cylindrical casing 18.
