Abstract
1343403 Fluid regulation PLESSEY CO Ltd 10 May 1971 [15 May 1970] 23671/70 Heading G3H An oscillator from which two different outputs may be tapped, one of a square-wave form and the other of a saw-tooth wave form, comprises a bi-stable Coanda-type fluidic switch 1 whose output branches 7 and 8 are each connected via Venturi nozzles 3 and 3a to capacitors 4 and 4a, respectively, the throats of the Venturi nozzles being in turn connected via lines 10 and 11 to the switch control inlets. Thus, if the flow supplied to the switch input 9 enters the branch 7, a signal develops, after a certain lapse of time Fig. 3 (not shown), within line 10 and this signal serves to switch the input flow to branch 8. A square-wave is obtained from the difference between the two pressures existing at tappings 12 and 13 provided respectively at the inlet of the two Venturi nozzles 3. A saw-tooth waveform, Fig. 5, (not shown ) is obtained from the difference between the two Venturi nozzle tappings 10 and 11. Varying the location of the nozzle tappings may be utilized to alter the saw-tooth waveform, Fig. 4 (not shown).
