Abstract
1343184 Nickel-chromium-iron alloys HENRY WIGGIN & CO Ltd 19 April 1971 [9 Feb 1970 11 May 1970] 20462/71 Heading C7A An alloy containing: - with the balance Fe and the sum of Ti Nb and ¢Ta being at least 4%. The alloy may also contain, as impurities, up to 0À35% Mu, up to 0À35% Si, up to 0À3% Cu, up to 1% Mo, and up to 0À015% of S and of P. The alloy may be hot or cold worked or annealed and then aged. Annealing is carried out at temperatures of from 927‹C to 1093‹C for times of about 1 hr per 2¢ cm of section. Ageing treatments include heating at temperatures of 718‹C, 732‹C, 746‹C or 760‹C for 8 hours, furnace cooling at 56‹C/hr to 649‹C and holding at that temperature for 8 hours and then air cooling if the alloy is annealed at above 954‹C the alloy can be aged at about 843‹C for 3 hrs, air cooled, heated at 719‹C for 8 hrs, furnace cooled at 56‹C/hr to 621‹C, held there for 8 hrs and then air cooled.
